Ruby Lotti began life as a publishing house, in the heart of Hamburg's newspaper district. That’s why, when it comes to design, we've channelled the golden age of reportage, with print blocks and retro specs.


Swing by the bar to catch an up-and-coming band, grab a drink with friends, or settle in for a sundowner on our spacious waterfront terrace. And when it's time to unwind, step behind the scenes to a haven of Lean Luxury calm: your room.

Publishing meets design

Located in Hamburg’s bustling press quarter, Ruby Lotti began life as a publishing house, a bookish big sister to the area’s numerous newspaper offices. From the moon landing to the fall of the Berlin Wall, some of the 20th century’s biggest scoops broke in the surrounding streets. Inspired by this storied past, we’ve stepped back in time to when reporters were roving, the press still used presses and typewriters were cutting-edge. Think vintage leather armchairs and antique radios, bulletin boards and rotary phones.

Good to know

How do I get to Ruby Lotti?

You'll find us at Düsternstrasse 1-3, right on Stadthausbrücke.


Stadthausbrücke S-Bahn station is a three-minute walk away, from where it's two stops to the city's main station. The airport's around half an hour away by S-Bahn, direct from Stadthausbrücke.

Is there anywhere to park?

We don't have our own car park, but Ruby Lotti guests get an exclusive discount at APCOA Parkhaus Stadthöfe, just three minutes’ walk from our door. Simply park your car, take a regular ticket, then ask a Ruby host to exchange it for a Ruby ticket.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is 11am.


If you arrive before 3pm, we'll do our best to find you a room. Otherwise, we'll happily look after your bags while you go exploring or grab a drink.


Fancy a lie in? Just ask our hosts for late check-out options when you arrive.


To check in, look for the screen at the bar and tap in your details. Your key card will pop out the slot and you can head straight to your room. If you need any help, just ask.


There's no need to check out. Simply leave your key card at the bar or in the drop box. We'll send the invoice for your stay to the email address you used when booking.

Can I bring my dog to the hotel?

Vacation with your dog? Absolutely – at Ruby, you can enjoy your best travel moments with your loyal companion. The process is simple: choose your desired hotel, select the Wow Room category, and book a spot for your four-legged friend. Your dog can stay for 30 EUR per stay.


Since you know best what your furry friend likes, feel free to bring along treats, toys, a bed, and other favorite items.

What are the opening times of the terrace?

Our tranquil, canal-side terrace awaits you daily, from Monday to Sunday, from 06:00 am to 10:00 pm. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and watch the boats drift by, whether it's with a delicious breakfast al fresco or a sundowner on a balmy evening.

Left something behind? We'll do our best to reunite you. Just fill in our lost and found form and our housekeeping team will check if it's been handed in.


We can store your lost item for up to six months after your check-out date. After that, we’ll need to make room for the lost treasures of other guests and dispose of any unclaimed belongings. Thank you for your understanding.
