Ruby Sofie may be surrounded by peaceful streets and historic architecture, but the city's main sights are a short stroll away.


Originally built as a bathhouse, Ruby Sofie was set for a life of lather, rinse, repeat. Thanks to her excellent acoustics though, she was soon transformed into a beautiful ballroom.


In the cosy bar, the music lives on, in the form of gigs by local bands. Drop by for a cocktail or bring your friends and grab a beer. And when it's time to unwind, each room is a haven of Lean Luxury calm, designed with serious sleep in mind. 


Blending tranquillity with great transport links, Sofie's an eight-minute walk from Wien Mitte station, just across the river from the landmarks of the Ringstrasse.

Concert hall meets vintage

Ruby Sofie began life as the Sofiensäle, a grand 19th-century bathhouse. As soon as her outstanding acoustics were spotted though, singing in the shower quickly turned to concerts and gala balls, with everyone from Johann Strauss to the Kinks gracing her stage. When it comes to design, we’ve taken cues from our leading lady’s past life, mixing vintage furnishings and antique playbills with statement spotlights and a head-turning piano.

How do I get to Ruby Sofie?

You'll find us at Marxergasse 17, 1030 Vienna.


Ruby Sofie is an eight-minute walk from Wien Mitte station, from where the airport's 16 minutes by train.

Is there anywhere to park?

While we don't have our own car park, Tiefgarage Sofiensäle is right under the hotel.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is 11am.


If you arrive before 3pm, we'll do our best to find you a room. Otherwise, we'll happily look after your bags while you go exploring or grab a drink.


Fancy a lie in? Just ask our hosts for late check-out options when you arrive.


To check in, look for the screen at the bar and tap in your details. Your key card will pop out the slot and you can head straight to your room. If you need any help, just ask.


There's no need to check out. Simply leave your key card at the bar or in the drop box. We'll send the invoice for your stay to the email address you used when booking.

Can I bring my dog to the hotel?

Vacation with your dog? Absolutely – at Ruby, you can enjoy your best travel moments with your loyal companion. The process is simple: choose your desired hotel, select the Wow Room category, and book a spot for your four-legged friend. Your dog can stay for 30 EUR per stay.


Since you know best what your furry friend likes, feel free to bring along treats, toys, a bed, and other favorite items.

Lost & found

Left something behind? We'll do our best to reunite you. Just fill in our lost and found form and our housekeeping team will check if it's been handed in.


We can store your lost item for up to six months after your check-out date. After that, we’ll need to make room for the lost treasures of other guests and dispose of any unclaimed belongings. Thank you for your understanding.
