Lilly's (Hi)story

Hommage to the glitterati society

In the heart of Munich’s inner city at Stiglmaierplatz, right opposite the famous Löwenbräukeller, is where Ruby Lilly is located. The location is a central starting point for cultural as well as historic highlights in Munich; popular museums, such as the New Pinakothek, the Glyptothek or the museum Brandhorst, are in immediate vicinity and within walking distance. Additionally, the hotel is right by the historic Königsplatz, in the lively Maxvorstadt district, and hence offers the ideal location to put Munich’s tradition into modern limelight.

For this, the formerly known Degussa building has been converted into a modern Ruby Hotel – the design focus of the public areas are directed to the Munich Glitterati lifestyle and Munich’s film- and TV society. The story of Munich’s cult figure Monaco Franze, known from the famous TV series of the 70s, is a central focus in the public areas. Real vintage furniture in combination with modern design as well as authentic drinks at the bar, such as Kir Royal, create a relaxed atmosphere with a touch of nostalgia. Also, the naming of the hotel goes back to Monaco Franze; his childhood sweetheart Lilly he never reached, has now been dedicated a hotel.
