Geneva: Free Transport Pass to Roam the City

Geneva city 9
Geneva, renowned for its cosmopolitan flair, scenic landscapes, and rich history, is a place begging to be explored. Thanks to Geneva Tourism and the Geneva Transport Card, navigating Geneva’s greatest attractions has become a breeze.

The Geneva Travel Card (GTC) makes exploring the city easier than ever before. Included with your stay at Ruby Claire, this card grants you free access to the city's excellent public transportation network, UNIRESO. Whether you’re embarking on a tram ride through the city's bustling streets, boarding a bus, cruising on a yellow taxi boat across Lake Geneva, or catching an SBB train, the GTC gives access to all modes of transport, offering convenience and ease of travel throughout the city.

With the local bus and tram system covering virtually every square meter of the city, Geneva boasts an efficient public transportation system that connects every part of the city. At its heart is TPG (Transports Publics Genevois), which operates local trams and buses. UNIRESO extends this network to include yellow taxi boats on Geneva Lake and SBB trains. Be sure to check out the city's public transport map for more details.

For those wondering how to obtain the Geneva Travel Card, here's a short explanation. First, book your stay at any hotel, hostel, or campsite in Geneva – preferably at Ruby Claire – and receive a complimentary transport card for the length of your stay. Three days before your scheduled arrival, you'll receive an email with a link to access your digital Geneva Transport Card on your smartphone. Following registration, you'll be issued a QR code, which must be presented at the checkpoints.

Please note that this service is provided by the city of Geneva, and they are responsible for issuing the transportation cards in a timely manner. Additionally, all GTCs are personalized and non-transferable. For more information, please visit Travel & Trade.

Your Geneva trip is around the corner and you haven’t registered or received your QR code yet? – Don’t worry. Geneva has got you covered. Upon your arrival at the airport, you're entitled to claim a complimentary 80-minute ticket for Geneva Public Transport (Zone 10). Simply head to the luggage retrieval hall where you'll find the ticket machine doling out freebies at the push of a button – no strings attached. No need to rush either – with a generous 80-minute limit, you've got plenty of time to arrive at your destination. When you arrive at Ruby, our hosts are available to help with the registration process. Feel free to approach them for assistance.
