• Bodice and Skirt: Dirndls come in various lengths—mini, midi, or full-length. Traditional dirndls are usually knee-length or longer.
• Blouse: Typically white, these can be simple or feature delicate lace and puffed sleeves.
• Apron: The bow's placement is significant. Tied on the left means you're single, on the right indicates you're taken, in the centre suggests you're a virgin, and a bow in the back signals widowhood or that you're a waitress.
• When choosing a dirndl, opt for rich, earthy tones or classic patterns like checks or florals. Accessories with traditional jewellery, a charivari (an ornamental chain), or a woollen shawl for cooler evenings.
