The stage is set

The spot where Ruby Leni now stands was once home to the Dusseldorfer Schauspielhaus – one of Europe’s leading theatres. In fact, Leni takes her name from Helena in Goethe’s Faust which was performed here to great acclaim back in the 50s.


Recalling Leni's time in the limelight, we’ve set the scene with antique props and costumes, along with sweeping lines, plush fabrics and carefully chosen vintage pieces.

Check-in is from 3pm. If you arrive early, we're happy to look after your bags. Check-out is at 11am. Just drop your key card at the bar and we'll email your invoice.

We only use the terrace in fair weather, so please ask a host for opening times during your stay.

Enjoy our breakfast

Our tasty, locally sourced breakfast buffet is served in the bar every morning, along with bottomless barista coffee or organic tea. Tuck in to fresh fruit and superfood cereals, along with wholegrain bread and a delicious selection of meats and cheeses. Our favourite is the local speciality, Mett. Not for the faint-hearted, this raw minced pork packs a flavoursome punch.

Ruby Leni's a hop and a skip from chic Königsallee, the old town and the riverside with its laidback bars. Graf-Adolf-Platz U-Bahn station is right outside, and the airport can be reached in around half an hour.
