Lose yourself in literary London

A stone’s throw from the old walled City of London, the area where Ruby Stella now stands was once a hive of industry for printers and bookbinders, and a favourite strolling spot of Charles Dickens. In fact, Stella takes her name from Estella in Great Expectations.


Inspired by this literary past, our design blends rich, Victorian textures and hues with ink pots, quills and vintage books.

Say goodbye to rummaging for change and counting out coppers – just tap your card for cocktails, coffees and tasty Italian-inspired snacks at our 24-hour bar.

Save water, drink cocktails

Help us save water by swapping your daily room clean for a freshen up every three days and have a drink on us. Just ask a host.

Check-in & check-out

Check-in is from 3pm. If you arrive early, we're happy to look after your bags. Check-out is at 11am. Just drop your key card at the bar and we'll email your invoice.

    Embrace the outdoors

    On sunny days and balmy evenings, our pretty, ground-floor terrace is the place to be. Start your day with an al fresco breakfast, spend an afternoon basking with a book, or kick back with a cocktail after a busy day exploring. We only use the terrace in fair weather, so please ask a host for opening times during your stay.

Our tasty, locally sourced breakfast buffet is served in the bar every morning, along with bottomless barista coffee or organic tea. Tuck in to fresh fruit and superfood cereals, along with wholegrain bread and a delicious selection of meats and cheeses. Our local favourite is the warm, comforting porridge. Drizzle with honey or add a dollop of jam, then go on your way with a glow.


Didn't book breakfast? No problem. We'd still love to see you there. It's £20, which we'll charge to your card.

Ruby Stella's a hop and a skip from some of London's top sights, including Covent Garden, Soho and the Tower of London. Farringdon station is an eight-minute walk away, from where it's 40 minutes to Heathrow airport.
