Ruby Lissi
Hotel & Bar

Following in the footsteps of an Austrian icon, Ruby Lissi takes her name from the globe-trotting Empress Elisabeth. Drawing inspiration from our namesake’s numerous voyages, we’ve taken design tips from railway carriages, steamships and hot air balloons, while a departure board makes final calls for flights of fancy.

Ruby Sofie
Hotel & Bar

The building Ruby Sofie calls home was originally the Sofiensäle, a grand 19th-century bathhouse. Thanks to her outstanding acoustics though, singing in the shower quickly turned to concerts and gala balls, with everyone from Johann Strauss to the Kinks gracing her stage. Taking cues from our leading lady’s past life, the decor mixes vintage playbills, vinyl sleeves and a head-turning piano.

  • Great for: a flying visit, with the airport less than 30 minutes away
  • Local favourites: meandering to Vienna's main sights, which are a 15-minute walk away
  • Nearest station: Wien Mitte

Ruby Paul
Workspaces

Housed in Vienna’s palatial former post office, Ruby Paul is breathing life back into one of the city’s most beautiful buildings.

Grand, arched corridors that once echoed to the sound of rattling mail trolleys now lead to light, airy rooms adorned with vintage stamps, mail boxes and post horns.

From hot desks to private offices, co-working tables and cosy corners to meeting rooms with all mod cons, there's a spot for every style of working.

Explore the neighbourhood

Whatever your style when you stay in a city, there's a Ruby spot for you in Vienna. Spiralling out from the inner city, Vienna's split into districts – each with its own unique character and must-see spots.

City centre

The 1st district, Innere Stadt, is the heart of the city and home to the Vienna State Opera, St Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Hofburg, along with pretty Stadtpark. It's also where you'll find Ruby Lissi. The easiest way to see all the big sights is to follow your nose (or hop on a tram) on a loop of the Ringstrasse, which encircles the 1st district.

For a change of pace, follow the river south east to Landstrasse (the 3rd district), and Ruby Sofie. This quiet corner of town was once Vienna's diplomatic quarter, so expect opulent architecture and plenty of places to stop for coffee and Sacher torte.

Museums

While out this way, be sure to swing by the Belvedere Palace for beautiful architecture and outstanding art – including Klimt's iconic Kiss. Alternative art fans should check out the colourful Hundertwasserhaus and the Museum of Art Fakes.

When you're ready for a change of scene, trace your way back towards Innere Stadt to MuseumsQuartier. The Leopold Museum, mumok and the Kunsthistorisches Museum will keep art-lovers amused for hours, while the Museum of Natural History boasts dino bones and meteorites.

Shopping

Shopaholics meanwhile, should set a course for the 7th district – also known as Neubau. The building that Ruby Marie calls home was once a grand department store, and the street below is still a shopper's paradise. Lined with international brands and independent boutiques, Mariahilfer Strasse is a great place for some serious retail therapy.
