Over the past weeks, as Ruby Hotels brought #RubyLoveStories to life in Amsterdam Centraal Station and Schadowplatz, Düsseldorf, we had the privilege of witnessing love in all its forms—raw, real, and beautifully human.
What started as a simple idea—creating a space for people to express and celebrate love—turned into something so much bigger. It became a collection of moments that made strangers pause, reflect, and open their hearts.
One of the most touching moments came from those who used our Ruby Love Frame to send messages to the people who shaped them most—their mothers.
Handwritten notes filled with words of gratitude, appreciation, and deep love were left behind, tiny testaments to the people who taught us what love truly means. Some wrote messages to mothers they had lost, others sent words of thanks to the ones who raised them. Each note carried a story, a lifetime of love wrapped in a few heartfelt words.
Not all the love notes were addressed to someone else. Some were written to the person looking back in the mirror—a quiet reminder that love isn’t just something we give, but something we must hold space for within ourselves.
One message read: "To myself: You are enough. You always have been." Another: "You’ve made it through so much—I'm proud of you."
In Düsseldorf, we witnessed a story that will stay with us forever.
A couple pregnant with their first child, walked past a brand new hotel. They stood beneath the lights, she noticed a name glowing—Luna.
She paused, smiled, and turned to her partner. "That’s it," she said. "That’s her name."
A name chosen in a moment of love, under the warm glow of our hotel sign. A reminder that love, in all its forms, has the power to shape the future.
At Ruby, we believe love is universal. It knows no boundaries, no limitations, no rules. This campaign became a safe space where members of the LGBTQ+ community could share their stories openly—some for the first time.
One couple wrote, "To the ones who said we wouldn’t make it—we did." Another left behind a note that simply read, "Love wins. Always."
We couldn’t agree more.
Among all the heartfelt notes, the deep confessions, and the grand romantic gestures, there were also the stories of friendship—the kind of love that feels like home.
Best friends stood inside our Ruby Love Frame, teasing each other about who was the better travel buddy, debating who was more likely to forget their passport, laughing over inside jokes that only they understood. Love, after all, isn’t just about romance—it’s about finding your people.
And just like that, the RubyLoveStories campaign became a love letter to connection, reminding us all that love doesn’t need to fit into any one box—it’s as diverse as the people who experience it.
