Scope

At Ruby, we are committed to providing a digitally accessible experience for all guests. We strive to make our content usable and accessible for everyone, regardless of physical or cognitive limitations. This statement applies to our website at https://ruby-hotels.com and is based on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

Compliance status

The requirements for digital accessibility are based on the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and its national counterparts, including the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). Our website has been evaluated and brought into line with the technical requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Levels A and AA.

This self-evaluation used a combination of automated testing tools and manual spot checks. As a result, certain barriers have been identified that are still present today. Based on the review, the websites are partially compatible/compliant with the aforementioned requirements due to certain incompatibilities.

Non-accessible content

The following areas of the website do not currently fully meet accessibility standards:

Colour contrast: The minimum contrast ratio is not always achieved for certain texts and interactive elements.
Alternative texts: Some images, buttons, icons, teasers and links lack meaningful or complete alternative text.
Graphics with embedded text: Some graphics contain text that is not available in a machine-readable format.
Videos: Subtitles are generally not provided. Transcripts, audio descriptions or full-text alternatives for purely visual content are also missing.
Link texts: Some link labels are too generic and do not clearly indicate the link’s destination or purpose.
Keyboard navigation: Full keyboard operation is not always possible, and the visible focus indicator is not consistently present.
Time-based content: Automatic redirects or updates cannot be paused or manually controlled by users.
User preferences: Options such as high-contrast mode or custom accessibility settings are not currently supported.
Text rendering: In certain areas, text is displayed as graphics without a text-based alternative being provided.
Language of content: In some cases, the language of individual text sections is not correctly identified. This can lead to reduced comprehensibility or incorrect pronunciation by screen readers.

We are working to gradually remove these barriers and improve the accessibility of our digital services on an ongoing basis.
