Ruby Hotels, founded by CEO Michael Struck, continues its European growth with a new project in Copenhagen, seamlessly blending Lean Luxury design with a carefully restored architectural setting. The conversion of an existing office building at Gammel Kongevej 74A will introduce a 219-room Ruby Hotel spanning six floors, featuring vibrant public spaces, a winter garden on the ground floor, and a rooftop terrace on the top floor with panoramic city views.

The property is situated in Frederiksberg, one of Copenhagen’s most prestigious districts, known for its rich gastronomy scene, cultural attractions, and independent boutiques. Within walking distance of Copenhagen’s Central Station, the lively Meatpacking District, and the iconic Tivoli Gardens, the hotel will offer excellent connectivity for both leisure and business travelers. Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is easily accessible, with a direct connection taking less than 25 minutes by car or public transport.

Elena Günther-Jakobs, Associate Director for Central & Northern Europe at the Ruby Group, comments: "Copenhagen has always been a top priority for us, and we’re thrilled to finally make our market entry in Denmark. The city’s dynamic atmosphere, with its rich art scene, lively culture, and renowned gastronomy, makes it a perfect fit for our target group. We are excited to continue our successful partnership with ECE and to bring our unique hospitality offering to this thriving and growing market."

Henrie W. Kötter, CEO of ECE Work & Live, says: "Our first hotel project in Denmark is a perfect example for our strategy of acquiring existing assets or plots of land in selected attractive metropolitan areas in Europe and developing them with investment and know-how into sustainable, user-oriented properties that are attractive to end investors. We are very pleased to realise this exciting project together with the Ruby Group as our partner."

Developed in close collaboration with ECE, Ruby’s long-term partner, this project presents a rare opportunity to breathe new life into an existing space in a prime location. With its strong potential and excellent connectivity, the hotel perfectly aligns with Ruby’s vision of transforming underutilized properties into vibrant hospitality experiences. Ruby’s in-house design team, led by Matthew Balon, will ensure that the interiors reflect the brand’s signature blend of style, functionality, and comfort.

The Ruby Hotel in Copenhagen is set to open in Q1 2027.
