Cosy Christmas Corners in Dusseldorf

Christmas season is all around - But besides the stressful things we have to do, you should also do something nice during this time of reflection. A short city trip is best to explore new Christmas markets, warm up in cosy cafés and perhaps find some nice presents for your loved ones.

Christmas Market at Benrath Castle

Our favourite Christmas market in Düsseldorf is a little outside, but easy to reach by tram. Every year it is located at Benrath Castle, one of the beautiful castles that Düsseldorf has to offer. The stands are built around the moat and there is hardly a more romantic place for Christmas.

Wundervoll Store

The Wundervoll Store describes itself as an urban food store and is an unconventional supermarket where special products like good wines and other great things are sold. Surely there are also many beautiful gift ideas here. The store is located in Oberkassel, a particularly beautiful district of Düsseldorf, which is definitely worth a visit. Just a short walk of our Ruby Hotels over the bridge to the other side of the Rhine and you're there.

Christmas Lights at Königsallee

Königsallee is not only the most famous street in Düsseldorf, but also the most beautifully lit during the Christmas season. It's a good thing that you hardly have a footpath from Ruby Coco and Ruby Leni, but are almost on Königsallee.

Getting Cosy at Cafe Bazzar

The Cafe Bazzar with its own coffee factory and tasty cakes is the ideal spot to relax and warm up from your Christmas stroll. It is located in the middle of Dusseldorf's old town.

Ho-Ho-Ho Hopping Tour through Dusseldorf

And if you'd rather be guided through the Christmas city than explore it yourself, there's a Ho-Ho-Ho Hopping Tour
Let the festive atmosphere of the romantically lit lanes take you while your knowledgeable city guide guides you to the sights of historic Düsseldorf. He also knows how to tell Christmas stories and poems.
The tour ends with a deliciously mulled wine (a steaming cocoa for the little ones) and delicious Christmas biscuits.

Drinking Mulled Wine at the Mulled Wine Pyramid

We admit that the "Mulled Wine Pyramid" may not be the most comfortable place to drink mulled wine, but it is certainly by far the most beautiful stand. And if it is too full to get a mulled wine, then the stand is still worth seeing. A few streets further on there are quieter corners for a delicious mulled wine in a more pleasant atmosphere.

It is located on Flinger Straße on the corner to Hunsrückenstraße.
