Alte Pinakothek

Back in the 19th century, King Ludwig I. of Bavaria commissioned the construction of a magnificent art gallery to give his precious art collection a dignified home. By now, the Alte Pinakothek comprises 700 art works among others by none less than Botticelli, da Vinci and Dürer. One main highlight is definitely the 'Great Last Judgement' by Peter Paul Rubens, which raises in front of the spectator with a height of six meters.
