Dit hotel is gevestigd in een stadswijk die bekend staat om verheven deugden en guilty pleasures. Ruby Lucy ontleent zijn inspiratie uit de ietwat schimmige wereld van markten en kermissen. De vluchtige momenten van opwinding en spanning die hierbij horen, hebben we vastgelegd in het ontwerp van ons hotel. Vervolgens hebben we ons design besprenkeld met een vleugje carnavalmagie en charme uit de oude wereld.

Ruby Stella ontleent haar naam en inspiratie aan het werk van Charles Dickens, één van de vele historische literaire genieën die Londen heeft voortgebracht. In die tijd was Clerkenwell een broeinest van creativiteit en de thuishaven van boekbinders, horlogemakers en juweliers. Met het oog op deze rijke geschiedenis hebben we van Stella een knusse omgeving voor boekenliefhebbers gemaakt. Maar wel eentje met een opvallend moderne twist.

De Caraïben roepen je, dus maak je op voor een warm welkom en de zonnige vibes van Ruby Zoe. De wijk Notting Hill staat bol van kleuren en karakter, van de pasteltinten van Portobello Road tot de jaarlijkse carnavalsoptocht. Het ontwerp van Ruby Zoe verwijst naar het eilandleven en combineert gedurfde tinten met warme texturen en zongebleekte oppervlakken.

In Londen valt enorm veel te zien en te doen. Je kunt met gemak een maand of langer volledig in de stad opgaan. Ben je hier voor een korte stedentrip? Dan kun je vanuit Ruby Lucy, Ruby Zoe of Ruby Stella snel en gemakkelijk de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden bereiken. Dus, waar wacht je nog op?

Bezienswaardigheden

Uiteraard is geen enkel bezoek aan Londen compleet zonder een selfie bij de Big Ben. Wandel naar de Westminster Bridge voor je kiekje en volg de rivier oostwaarts naar de London Eye en het bruisende leven aan de oever van de Thames op de South Bank.

Shopping

Ben je dol op het bruisende stadsleven? Aan de overkant van de rivier tref je de levendige straten van Covent Garden aan, plus de theaters van West End en de beste winkelgelegenheden van Londen. Voor de grote merknamen moet je in Oxford Street en Regent Street zijn. En als je een luxedier bent, kun je direct koers zetten naar Bond Street.

Royals

Als je even op adem wil komen is er geen gebrek aan groene ruimtes. Met zijn lieflijke meer en uitzicht op Buckingham Palace, is St James’s Park daarvoor een toplocatie.

 

Voor een duik in de eeuwenoude geschiedenis van het Britse koningshuis kun je terecht bij de Tower of London. Dit bijna duizend jaar oude fort wordt omringd door moderne wolkenkrabbers en de iconische Tower Bridge. De Tower verkeert nog altijd in topconditie en is zonder meer de moeite van een bezoekje waard.

Nachtleven

Bij zonsondergang kun je watertandend afkoersen op de verrukkelijke restaurants in de bruisende wijk Soho. Hier kun je je smaakpapillen een reis om de wereld laten maken. Want in de beslotenheid van een paar straten tref je alles aan: van Koreaanse barbecue tot Franse cuisine en van Spaanse tapas tot Argentijnse steak. Dat wordt genieten.
