Ruby Lissi

Dit hotel ontleent zijn naam aan een heus Oostenrijks icoon: keizerin Elisabeth, die een onvervalste globetrotter was. Geïnspireerd door haar vele reizen maakten we voor het interieur gebruik van elementen van treincoupés, stoomschepen en luchtballonnen. Een display met de vertrektijden van vluchten geeft je fantasie vrij spel.

Ruby Marie

Ruby Marie begon ooit als het eerste warenhuis van Oostenrijk. Op de elegante verdiepingen was er van alles te vinden, van haute couture tot serviesgoed. Het was er een drukte van jewelste, en dit trok de fine fleur van de stad aan. Met een knipoog naar het verleden, herinnert de bar in Ruby Marie aan de weelde en energie van haar hoogtijdagen in de jaren 60 met luxe lampen, pluchen sofa’s, vintage posters en kleermakersgereedschap.

Ruby Sofie
Hotel & Bar

Het gebouw waarin Ruby Sofie is gevestigd heette oorspronkelijk de Sofiensäle. Dit grootse 19e-eeuwse badhuis werd vanwege de uitmuntende akoestiek al gauw getransformeerd tot een locatie voor concerten en gala’s. Allerlei artiesten, van Johann Strauss tot The Kinks, stonden hier op de bühne. Met verwijzingen naar het vorige leven van onze leading lady, omvat het decor een combinatie van vintage toneelaffiches, albumhoezen en een piano die alle hoofden doet draaien. 

  • Geknipt voor: een snel bezoek aan Wenen: in nog geen halfuur reis je van en naar het vliegveld
  • Lokale favorieten: kriskras door straatjes en steegjes naar de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de stad wandelen. Deze bevinden zich op 15 minuten loopafstand.

Ruby Paul
Workspaces

Deze Workspace is gevestigd in het majestueuze voormalige postkantoor van Wenen. Ruby Paul blaast daarmee één van de mooiste gebouwen van de stad nieuw leven in.

 

Ruime, gebogen gangen waarin ooit het geratel van postkarretjes weerklonk, leiden nu naar lichte en ruime kamers die zijn gedecoreerd met vintage postzegels, brievenbussen en posthoorns.

 

Hier kun je terecht voor alles van flexwerkplekken en privé kantoorruimtes tot co-workingtafels, gezellige hoekjes en vergaderruimtes met alle moderne voorzieningen.

 

Dus pak een gratis kop koffie, verbind je laptop met het razendsnelle wifi-netwerk en maak het jezelf gemakkelijk.

Wat je verblijfsstijl ook is, in Wenen vind je altijd een Ruby-locatie die jou op het lijf geschreven is. Vanuit de binnenstad is Wenen opgedeeld in wijken met allen een uniek karakter en bijzondere bezienswaardigheden.

Stadscentrum

De eerste wijk, de Innere Stadt, is het stadshart en biedt onderdak aan de Staatsopera van Wenen, de Stephansdom en de Hofburg, en niet te vergeten het lieflijke Stadtpark. Dit is waar je Ruby Lissi kunt vinden. De eenvoudigste manier om alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden te zien? Loop simpelweg rechtdoor (of hop op een tram) door een rondje te maken langs de Ringstraße, die de eerste wijk omringd.

 

Wil je het wat rustiger aan doen? Volg dan de rivier in zuidoostelijke richting naar de Landstraße (de derde wijk), daar vind je Ruby Sofie. Dit serene deel van de stad was ooit de diplomatieke wijk van Wenen. Je kunt dus weelderige architectuur verwachten, plus tal van plekjes om te stoppen voor koffie en typisch Weense Sachertorte.

Musea

En als je toch in de buurt bent, moet je zeker een bezoekje brengen aan het Belvedere Palace. Daar kun je prachtige architectuur en uitmuntende kunst bewonderen, waaronder het iconische werk De Kus van Gustav Klimt. Liefhebbers van alternatieve kunst kunnen hun hart ophalen in het kleurrijke Hundertwasserhaus en het Fälschermuseum Wien, met een imposante collectie kunstvervalsingen.

 

En als je aan andere indrukken toe bent, kun je terugkeren naar de Innere Stadt voor een bezoek aan het MuseumsQuartier. Het Leopold Museum, Mumok en het Kunsthistorisches Museum houden kunstliefhebbers urenlang zoet. En in het Natuurhistorisch Museum tref je alles van dinosaurusbotten tot meteorieten aan.

Shopping

Shopaholics kunnen direct afkoersen op de zevende wijk, die ook wel de Neubau wordt genoemd. Het gebouw waarin Ruby Marie is gevestigd was ooit een warenhuis, en deze straat is nog altijd een waar winkelparadijs. De Mariahilfer Straße is met tal van internationale merken en onafhankelijke boetiekjes het walhalla voor shoppers.
