Leni was our second Ruby hotel to open its doors in Düsseldorf. In 2019 - restored and restyled - the building that Leni calls its home returned to its hospitality roots. Curtains up for our lean luxury star: Ruby Leni Hotel & Bar.

Originally opened as a hotel in 1904, the building’s theatrical potential was quickly spotted, and just a few years later, the building was transformed into the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. It quickly made its name as one of Europe’s most important and influential theatres. The group’s ground-breaking production of Goethe’s Faust was even captured in a film production, and the character of Helena set the stage for Leni’s name.

With such a rich cultural history, our designers were spoiled for choice. Retro lines, plush fabrics, and carefully chosen vintage pieces combined with artistic modern touches give every stay a dash of theatrical glamour. The 170 luxuriously furnished rooms reflect the hotel’s Lean Luxury philosophy: luxury in small spaces, with cherry-wood panelling, real-wood floors, fine fabrics, and an atmospheric lighting concept. Our rooms at Ruby Leni await you with luxurious extra-large beds, open glass rain showers, our own Ruby care amenities, and a Marshall speaker box. A personal tablet concierge will help you make the most of your stay.

Leni became the first of our hotels to feature Resident Rooms, which are a little more spacious and equipped with a bigger wardrobe, a small fridge, and a coffee machine. That's not all, our guests have exclusive access to our residents' fully equipped kitchen and lounge.
