Ahoy there, Hamburg

Book your stay in the city centre

A traditionally seafaring city of mingling cultures and international trade, Hamburg's known for its easy-going, alternative spirit. The historic harbour is the focus of the fun, with festivals, concerts, boat trips and more popping up throughout the year. During the summer, the waterfront comes alive with people enjoying a beer and a bask – often with a side of seafood. Meanwhile winter brings festive markets, twinkly lights and the chance to café-hop and explore the city's coffee culture. And if it's nightlife you're after, you're in the right place: Hamburgers know how to party.

Whether for work or for play - discover our hotel Ruby Lotti and workspace Ruby Hans in Hamburg.

Ruby Lotti
Hotel & Bar

Ruby Lotti began life as a publishing house, in the heart of Hamburg's newspaper district. That’s why, when it comes to design, we've channelled the golden age of reportage, with print blocks and retro specs. Perched on the waterfront, you'll also spot a maritime influence or two, with the sleek lines and wood panelling of luxury yachts featuring in each room.

  • Great for: seeing a new side of the city and its historic harbour
  • Local favourites: sampling the local seafood. Our favourite is Fischbrötchen, a deliciously unfussy combo of crusty bread, fresh fish and a few simple extras
  • Nearest station: Stadthausbrücke

Explore the neighbourhood

Overlooking one of Hamburg’s many canals, Ruby Lotti’s a stone’s throw from the pretty Stadthausbrücke and a short stroll from Jungfernstieg – a laidback lakeside promenade that’s one of our favourite spots for people-watching and window shopping. Ruby Hans is just a few minutes by foot away, offering an ideal mix for your stay.

City centre

By day, it makes for a pretty, waterside stroll, but it's worth coming back after dark to see the city's lights reflected in the Binnenalster lake.

Just beyond the Kennedy and Lombard bridges, the water opens out into the Aussenalster. On sunny days, the shores are dotted with picnickers and barbecue parties, while boats bob on the water. Hire one yourself and take to the lake to join in the fun.

Shopping

Back on dry land, if you’re feeling flush and fancy a proper shopping spree, the exclusive shops of Neuer Wall are just five minutes away.

Also within easy reach are Speicherstadt and HafenCity. The red-brick former warehouses of Hamburg’s historic port district are now home to restaurants, museums and the stunning Elbphilharmonie concert hall.

Nightlife

For night owls, the legendary Reeperbahn is around ten minutes from Ruby Lotti, and quirky Sternschanze with its independent shops and friendly cafés is less than twenty minutes away for a morning-after wander.
